Coastrek is a much-loved team hiking challenge that sends thousands of walkers along Australia's most beautiful coastlines to raise funds for charity. The Sunshine Coast edition is a stunner, tracing the Queensland coast with distances to suit everyone, walked in teams of two or more.
Choose a 50km from Noosa, a 30km from Peregian or a 20km from Marcoola, with all routes finishing at Mooloolaba. The longer options are a serious all-day (and into the evening) endurance effort, while the 20km is achievable for most with a bit of training. Either way, you'll knock off some of the Sunshine Coast's most gorgeous beaches and headlands.
Coastrek is a team event, so grab a few friends and start fundraising early. Train with progressively longer walks, sort out your footwear and headtorches for the longer distances, and pack for coastal weather. Held in July, conditions are usually mild and perfect for a big day out. Enter online through the official Coastrek website.
