The Darwin Runners & Walkers Half Marathon is the club's flagship road race, held on the East Point foreshore in the dry season. The 2027 edition starts at 7:00am on Sunday 18 July from the car park at Lake Alexander, East Point Reserve.
The 21.1km is four laps of a flat loop through the reserve, so support is never far away and spectators see runners several times. Teams can split the distance as a relay. It is run by Darwin Runners & Walkers Inc., a volunteer club that also holds weekly Wednesday-evening runs, and entries go through the club's online registration.
July is the coolest, driest part of the Top End year, though a 7am start in Darwin is still warm by southern standards. East Point is a short drive from the CBD, with parking at Lake Alexander.
