Fair warning: the 2026 Campbell's Shepparton Running Festival has sold out across all distances. Yes, all of them. If you haven't registered yet, this year's event isn't happening for you — but read on anyway, because you'll definitely want to lock in 2027 the moment entries open.
Why is Shepparton such a hot ticket? Simple: it's one of regional Victoria's most beloved running events, set in the heart of the Goulburn Valley. The flat, fast course is a favourite for runners chasing PBs — if you've been waiting to crack a barrier time, Shep's your race. The event has a warm, grassroots community feel you don't get from big city festivals. Local volunteers are incredible, the crowd support is enthusiastic, and the post-race celebrations in town are genuinely fun.
Flat and fast — a certified PB course. The route takes in the Goulburn Valley's agricultural landscapes and Shepparton's friendly streets, with minimal elevation. If you've got a goal time in mind, this event gives you every chance of hitting it.
Marathon (42.2km), Half Marathon (21.1km), 10km, 5km, and 2km.

Shepparton is about 2 hours north of Melbourne via the Hume and Goulburn Valley highways. Regional accommodation books out fast on race weekend — plan well ahead.
William Rocks won the 2025 Shepparton marathon in 2:30:22 on Sunday 17 August, close to eleven minutes clear of Dan Hurley on the flat two-lap course. Hayley Waterson was first woman home in 2:55:25, seventh overall in a field of 215 marathon finishers.

Matthew Whitaker won the 2024 Shepparton marathon in 2:23:30 on Sunday 25 August, thirteen minutes clear of William Rocks — who came back to win the race himself the following year. Halisa Nicolaci was first woman home in 3:20:28, 41st overall in a field of 227 marathon finishers.
