The Granite Island Run is a scenic coastal fun run around Granite Island at Victor Harbor, on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula. After several years as an August race it moves to Sunday 20 June in 2027. The course mixes the new causeway, old tram lines, gravel trails and a few short sharp climbs, with long and short course options plus a free Kids' Dash, all rewarded with sweeping views across the south coast.
Run by Great Southern Runs and based in the historic seaside town of Victor Harbor, about an hour from Adelaide, it is a relaxed, well-organised morning that pairs nicely with a weekend on the coast. It is popular enough that both main courses sold out in 2026, so enter early.
Brett Goldfinch won the 2025 long course in 39:04 on Sunday 17 August, two minutes twenty clear of teenager Liam Boyce. Morwenna Jones was the fastest woman in 46:39, 15th overall from 249 finishers. The tightest finish of the day came behind her: Rachel Griffiths and Nicky Buckley were split by eleven hundredths of a second for third and fourth woman.
