The Track Classic is a straight 5km time trial on the synthetic track at Harold Corr Oval in Cambridge Park, western Sydney, run in seeded heats so you line up with runners at your own pace. The 2026 edition is on Sunday 27 September with a 7am start. A shorter 3km runs alongside it, aimed at youth and entry-level runners.
Twelve and a half laps, no hills, no traffic. The appeal here is accuracy: Harold Corr Oval's 400m eight-lane track opened in September 2023 after a $6.9 million rebuild by Penrith City Council and the NSW Government, and is rated a World Athletics Class 2 facility. The distance is exactly the distance, which makes it a cleaner PB attempt than a road 5km, and a useful mid-block fitness check if you are deep in marathon or Hyrox training.
Entry is $59 for the 5km and $49 for the 3km, online only through Race Roster. Entries for 2026 close on 10 September. Racing is chip-timed, with cash prizes for the overall male and female winners and prize packs for age-group podium finishers. lululemon is a sponsor of the 2026 event.
