The Central Coast sits in one of those fortunate geographic positions where water is always nearby — Brisbane Water, Gosford waterfront, the beaches of Woy Woy and Umina just minutes away. The Bay to Bay Running Festival makes the most of it with a point-to-point course that starts on the Woy Woy waterfront and finishes at Polytec Stadium in Gosford, threading through some of the Central Coast's most attractive scenery along the way.
The half marathon and 12km start at Woy Woy and follow the Brisbane Water foreshore and surrounding roads before finishing at Polytec Stadium in Gosford. The marathon adds extra distance through the Central Coast hinterland. It's a point-to-point format — always more interesting than an out-and-back — on a World Athletics certified course with solid PB potential on the mostly flat terrain.
Marathon (42.2km), Half Marathon (21.1km), 12km, 5km, and a 2km Kids Fun Run for ages 7–12. The event takes place on Sunday 14 June 2026, registrations available through Race Roster.
Gosford and the Central Coast are one of those parts of NSW that people who live there are quietly smug about — close enough to Sydney (about 80km), far enough from the traffic and prices, and with genuine natural beauty in abundance. June is a lovely time on the Coast: mild, clear days and the winter crowds haven't arrived yet.
Gosford is well connected by train from Sydney Central (roughly 75 minutes on the Central Coast line). From Sydney, drive via the Pacific Motorway (M1) north. Accommodation in Gosford and Woy Woy is plentiful and reasonably priced compared to Sydney alternatives.
