The Warrnambool Running Festival takes over the south-west Victorian coast across the weekend of 19–20 September 2026, presented by the Warrnambool Running Club. It is built around the town's shoreline: the Sunday distances run a scenic coastal course, with the marathon covering two laps of the half marathon route for those who want to double the views.
There is a distance for everyone. Sunday holds the marathon (7am), half marathon (8am), 10km (8:30am) and a 6km, while Saturday afternoon adds two relaxed community events on the coast: the 4km Breakwater Dash along Warrnambool's breakwater and the 2km Worm Bay Wiggle to run, walk or roll. Every event is open to walkers at the same entry fee, and Warrnambool Running Club members get a discount.
It is an unpretentious, family-friendly festival rather than a PB-chasing meet, and it doubles nicely as an excuse to spend a weekend on the Shipwreck Coast.
