Coastal beach scenery along the Bondi to Manly Ultra route

Two of Sydney's most famous beaches, 80 kilometres of cliffs, coastline and harbour in between, and one very big day on your feet. The Bondi to Manly Ultra is Sydney's most scenic ultramarathon, an urban adventure that follows the iconic Bondi to Manly walking track right around the harbour. It returns on Saturday 24 October 2026.

The route

Starting at Bondi Pavilion as the sun rises, the course traces clifftops to Watsons Bay and South Head, hugs the Hermitage Foreshore, sweeps past the Royal Botanic Garden and Opera House, crosses the Sydney Harbour Bridge, winds through red-gum forest around Bradleys Head, and tackles the famous Spit-to-Manly route before a final climb around North Head to the finish at Manly Beach. It's a bustling city immersed in nature, and a genuinely spectacular 80km.

Solo or relay

Take on the full 80km solo for the ultimate challenge, or split it with a crew: a two-person relay of 40km each, or a four-person relay of roughly 20km legs. The relay format makes this bucket-list route accessible even if a full ultra isn't on your radar yet.

Entry and getting there

This one's popular, the field fills fast, so secure your spot early via Race Roster. Bondi and Manly are both well served by public transport, and with a point-to-point course, planning your start and finish logistics, and a support crew if going solo, is part of the adventure.
