Runners on the Coastal Pathway Ultra course near Latrobe, Tasmania

The Coastal Pathway Ultra runs along the North West Coastal Pathway in Tasmania on 4 October 2026, a flat, sealed shared path that hugs the coastline between Latrobe and Ulverstone. The longer races head out and back, taking in the beaches and small coastal towns of the state's north-west.

It is one of the more accessible ultra line-ups in the country. The headline is a 100km solo, backed by a 64km solo and a 64km teams relay, plus a marathon, half marathon and 10km, so the day spans first-timers through to seasoned ultra runners. The smooth, largely flat surface makes it a rare thing in ultra running: a genuine course for a fast time rather than a technical grind.

That flat-and-fast reputation is about to be formalised, with the event set to host the AUTRA 100km Road National Championships in 2027. For 2026 it is a scenic, well-organised weekend on one of Tasmania's best stretches of coast.
