Run Port Douglas is a road race in Tropical North Queensland that swaps the usual finish chute for the hard-packed sand of Four Mile Beach. The 2026 event is on Saturday 5 September, with four timed distances: a 2km, 5km, 10km and a half marathon.

The half is a single continuous lap, starting by the Mirage Country Club, running through the main street, past the superyacht marina and up Flagstaff Hill before dropping onto the beach for a final 3.6km along the sand to the finish near the Port Douglas Surf Club. All four distances share that beach finish. Only in its second year after debuting in 2025, the event has drawn a strong ambassador line-up including Andy Buchanan and Jess Stenson, and throws in a free run singlet for half marathon and 10km entrants.

September falls in the northern dry season, so conditions are warm but manageable, and the race doubles as a reason to visit the reef and the Daintree. Registration packs are collected in Cairns on the Thursday or Port Douglas on the Friday, with none available on race day.
