Zatopek:10 is Australia's most prestigious 10,000m, a summer-evening track classic run under lights at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park. The 2026 edition is on Friday 11 December. Named after the great Czech distance runner Emil Zatopek and staged in Melbourne since 1961, the men's and women's 10,000m races have long been the country's premier 25-lap showdown and a proving ground for Olympians.
The night is built around those two headline 10,000m races, supported by the U20 Ondieki and De Castella 3000m events, the Victorian 60m Championships, and field-event challenges named for Australian greats Steve Hooker and Gary Honey. Fast fields, a packed grandstand and a genuine sense of history make it one of the best nights of track in the country, to watch or to contest.
