The Sun Run is a fast, point-to-point coastal run along Sydney's Northern Beaches, from Dee Why to Manly. The 2027 edition is on Saturday 6 February, with a 7km and a 10km on offer. It is a big, family-friendly summer event, World Athletics-certified over 10km, and the finish at Manly puts the beach a few steps from the line. Run by Northern Beaches Council, it raises funds for local charities. Trains and buses serve both ends, so sort the return before you start.
Leo Peterson won the 2026 Sun Run in 30:24 on Saturday 31 January, 36 seconds clear of Ed Goddard, who had won the race in 2024. Aynslee Van Graan was first woman home in 34:51, 18th overall.
