Newcastle's Bloody Long Walk starts at Barton Field in Belmont and spends its first half on the Fernleigh Track, a converted rail line, before the Yuelarbah Trail delivers walkers to the coast at Merewether. From there it's beaches all the way to the finish at Foreshore Park. 35km on Sunday 23 August, waves from 6:30am, raising funds for the Mito Foundation; recent pricing has run from $114 early to $144 standard.
